The Court Collaborative Program provides mental health and substance use disorder services to adult participants in eight Alameda county treatment courts. This team supports participants with assessment and case management services. We link our participants with appropriate SUD and mental health services; support them with their treatment goals and maintain communication with the court team as related to their progress on these goals. The Court Collaborative Team leads collaborative court hearings and provides consultation and training as related to supporting our participants ' treatment needs. We work in close collaboration with our many court partners including judges, attorneys, probation and parole officers, and representatives from the Veterans Administration and the Department of Children and Family Services. Our primary goal is to ensure that our participants have access to treatment in order to graduate from treatment court and successfully exit the criminal justice and/or DCFS systems.

POSITION SUMMARY

The SUTS JIMH (Justice Involved Mental Health) Clinician Unlicensed provides substance use and mental health treatment services including assessment, treatment, discharge planning, case management, linkages, referrals, and other supportive services to adults. The SUTS JIMH Clinician Unlicensed also provides SUD treatment expertise and guidance to a multidisciplinary team. In Voluntary Residential Substance Use Treatment Programs, the term “member” means “Resident” in consistence with Title 9.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Master 's Degree in Social Work, psychology or related field from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of direct service experience in a behavioral health setting with co-occurring conditions
    • Must be able to provide identification number as a current registered intern with the Board of Behavioral Sciences in the state of employment as an ASW or AMFT
  • Bachelor 's Degree in Social Work, psychology or related field from an accredited college, AND a certification in drug and alcohol studies (CADC I, II, or III) approved by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) AND three (3) years ' experience in a drug and alcohol treatment environment which also addresses mental health issues
  • Thorough understanding of the rights of members served and relevant legal processes
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to behavioral health issues and multi-cultural populations (e.g., exposure through family relationships, volunteering, or other previous experience(s) or coursework)
  • Understands assessment tools and Harm Reduction Model
  • Strong focus and passion to provide excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of the needs of individuals diagnosed with co-occurring conditions and substance use
  • Experience facilitating groups, conducting intakes, assessments and providing case management services for those with SUDS and or co-occurring conditions
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment
  • All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification.Position requires driving, valid driver license, a motor vehicle clearance and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Preferred:

2 years experience in SUD treatment and a certificate in drug & alcohol studies OR master’s degree in behavioral health & 2 years experience with co-occuring conditions.

  • LAADC credential
  • Two (2) years of experience working in JIMH setting

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrate the Telecare mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with the internal and external stakeholders
  • Provides specialized services and interventions related to substance use/addictive disorders, including thematic groups, evidence-based practices, and collaboration with external agencies and resources
  • Supports the court teams with treatment recommendations, and act as a programmatic resource for problem solving, and seeking further consultation as needed
  • Completes and reviews ASAM assessments and determines the appropriate level of services for new members served
  • Provides appropriate interventions in crisis situations
  • Writes thorough and goal-oriented client treatment plans, assessments, and progress notes in accordance with Telecare Corporation 's policy and procedures
  • Attends and participates in community meetings and groups
  • Coordinates transitions to lower levels of care
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws and regulations, including but not limited to, client confidentiality, incidence reporting, non-discrimination in the provision of services, risk management policy and Telecare Corporation policies and procedures
  • Participates in all case conferences and in collaboration with other professionals overseeing the client 's case, and links clients to resources in the community
  • Provides and documents quality and quantity of direct services as required by program standards
  • Collects required data and completes required documentation
  • Maintains awareness of community resources and assists members served in appropriate use of community resources
  • Helps members served achieve greater independence and autonomy
  • Safeguards confidentiality; adheres to HIPAA and 42 CFR, Part 2, and Part 438 guidelines
  • Must evade members served in the event of assaultive behavior and pass assault crisis/crisis prevention training
  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted and/or changed at the discretion of management.

Position requires driving for company business such as trainings, offsite meetings, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, twist, push, pull and lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds or less as well as to frequently walk, stand, twist, reach and to do simple and power grasping. The position requires manual deviation, repetitive and dexterity, as well as driving, exposure to uneven walking ground, and hazardous exposure (blood borne pathogens, hospital waste, chemicals, and infections).
