Telecare Recovery Station - Be Well Orange program is a 12 cot, 24/7 program designed to help adults safely detox from their substance use. During the 6-8 hours at the Be Well Recovery Station, staff will provide individuals who are acutely intoxicated brief interventions and referrals to treatment, in addition to an opportunity to rest and recuperate in a safe and protective setting. More than just a place to “sober up,” the Recovery Station will offer an opportunity for engagement and connection to the larger system of care. This program is scheduled to open in January 2021

Employment Status: Full Time

Shift: AM, PM, NOC and one person will work a split shiftacross the PM/NOC 6:00 pm to 2:30 am

POSITION SUMMARY

The SUTS Coordinator provides daily care and support to clients and promote a positive treatment experience. The coordinators serve as liaisons between clients, their families, medical and mental health practitioners, and criminal justice agencies.

In Voluntary Residential Substance Use Treatment Programs, the term “member” means “Resident” in consistence with Title 9.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

· High school diploma or G.E.D.

· Demonstrated sensitivity to behavioral health issues and multi-cultural populations (e.g., exposure through family relationships, volunteering, or other previous experience(s) or coursework)

· Strong focus and passion to provide excellent customer service

o Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician certification (RADT) with an alcohol and drug certifying organization approved by DHCS

· Must be at least 18 years of age

· Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment

· All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. Thisposition requires driving, valid driver’s license, a motor vehicle clearance and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional regulatory, contractual or local requirements may apply

Preferred:

· One (1) year practical experience in drug and alcohol or mental health field preferred; internship, employment, or volunteer work

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with the internal and external stakeholders

· Assists in the welcoming, admissions, and discharge processes

· Supports members served in activities of daily living

· Ensures safety of members served through monitoring and observation of irregularities and ongoing client needs and by completing related documentation (e.g., communication logs)

· Documents client movement in and out of the facility by verifying approved passes and providing transportation resources to and from appointments

· Assists with outings for members served by driving Program van and/or own vehicle

· Conducts regular rounds of the facility, ensuring client safety and program participation

· Assists with medication monitoring as assigned

· Ensures clients are engaged in the program schedule and structure

· Assists clients with their needs and refers them to their counselor for clinical support

· Assists clients with scheduling appointments both on and off site with doctors, family and social service agencies

· Monitors and assists members served at mealtime

· Attends and participates in community meetings and groups

· Collects urine samples from members served, as assigned

· Helps create a recovery environment through interactions with staff and members served

· Demonstrates knowledge of PART principles and techniques

· May conduct individual, group, and family sessions per contractual obligations

· Must evade members served in the event of assaultive behavior and pass assault crisis/crisis prevention training

For Voluntary Residential Substance Use Treatment Programs:

o No Restraints will be used in Substance Use Treatment Programs

o Monitors the self-administration of medications and documents in member file

o Collects urine samples, interpret results, and documents in members’ file

Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted and/or changed at the discretion of management.

SKILLS

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team as well as alone

· Basic computer skills (Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet search engines)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, twist, push, pull, lift, and carry items weighing 25 pounds or less as well as to frequently walk, stand, twist, reach, and do simple and power grasping. The position requires manual deviation, repetition, and dexterity, as well as driving, exposure to uneven walking ground, and hazardous exposure (blood borne pathogens, hospital waste, chemicals, and infections).
