Shift: 8:30am - 5pm

Days: Monday - Friday


POSITION SUMMARY


The Senior Accountant performs accounting and related bookkeeping activities.


QUALIFICATIONS


Required:
 Four (4) years of experience working in an accounting office or maintaining accounting ledgers, including general and subsidiary ledgers
 Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting
 Computer literacy with an intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
 For the educational requirement, appropriate experience may be substituted on a year for year basis, up to four (4) years
 Necessary skills include knowledge and experience in the use of computerized accounting systems, ability to multi-task and prioritize complex and conflicting tasks, ability to work independently, and a willingness to take on continuously changing challenges
 All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If the position requires driving, valid driver license, a motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional regulatory, contractual, or local requirements may apply.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


 Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with internal and external stakeholders
 Performs tasks correctly and according to policies and procedures
 Performs accounting and bookkeeping tasks in addition to assisting in the preparation of cost and related reports, including:
o Preparing monthly general ledger entries for multiple locations
o Preparing various monthly reports for distribution to program administrators and corporate staff
o Analyzing accounts and maintenance of subsidiary ledgers and supporting general ledger schedules
o Reconciling bank accounts
o Preparing the schedules required for the annual audit and other special projects
o Preparing annual property statements for property tax assessment
o Filing of sales and business license tax returns
o Maintaining and managing the fixed assets module
o Providing audit assistance
o Reviewing Staff Accountants’ work, as needed
o Reviewing program financial statements
Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, and/or changed at the discretion of management.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


The employee is constantly required to sit and occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, twist, bend, pull, and lift and carry items weighing 10 pounds or less as well as to do simple grasping occasionally. The position requires manual deviation, repetition, and dexterity. Visual requirements include computers and books exposure.
