This role will be based at our Corporate Headquarters in Alameda CA. Some remote work is feasible.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Purchasing Coordinator supports the Purchasing Department in the procurement of supplies, hardware, software, and telecommunications services, as well as negotiating prices and ensuring compliance of service terms. The Purchasing Coordinator also provides customer service to Telecare programs and departments and may provide training on the ordering of supplies and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Five (5) years’ experience in purchasing and providing customer telephone support and customer service
  • Two (2) years’ experience in technology equipment procurement and asset management
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and cellular communications equipment and related service plans.
  • Excellent computer skills with intermediate-level knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices as they relate to invoice/payment processing and cost allocation
  • Detail-oriented
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If the position requires driving, valid driver license, a motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance is required at the time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional regulatory, contractual or local requirements may apply


Preferred:

  • College degree in business, materials management, operations management or related field
  • Experience with cloud-based services such as Microsoft Office 365 including OneDrive and SharePoint


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrate the Telecare mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with the internal and external stakeholders
  • Responsible for procurement of technology computing equipment and software including cellular communications equipment
  • Negotiates best price and service from vendors and ensures compliance with negotiated terms
  • Responsible for managing cellular service plans including activation, deactivation, and renewals as well as service utilization monitoring and reporting
  • Work with relevant corporate and program staff in support of inter-departmental purchasing services
  • Responsible for technology equipment receiving and asset tracking and reporting
  • Responsible for invoice processing working closely with Accounts Payable to ensure timely payment of purchase orders, service contracts, and contract renewals
  • Monitors and manages service requests and responds promptly and accurately to customer requests
  • Ensure that problems are prioritized and addressed in a timely manner and status is communicated to affected users and the Purchasing Manager
  • Able to work with minimal supervision to effectively prioritize and complete assignments and support requests
  • Escalates issues in a timely and appropriate manner to Purchasing Manager
  • Makes decisions which recognize the long- and short-term interests of Telecare and the Purchasing Department

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is frequently required to stand, bend, stoop, twist, squat, reach, do simple grasping, and lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds or less as well as to constantly sit. The position requires manual deviation, repetition, and dexterity. Visual requirements include computers and book exposure
