DIET AIDE I – CORDILLERAS MHRC


STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

We exist to help people with mental impairments realize their full potential.


MISSION STATEMENT

Telecare Corporation will deliver and manage excellent services and systems of care for person with serious mental illness.

Employment Status: On-Call

Shift: AM, PM, NOC, Days as needed

Days: Sunday - Saturday as needed

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Diet Aide I performs a variety of tasks to ensure consistent clean and sanitary conditions in the facility’s dietary and dining areas. In addition, tasks include assisting in the preparation and assembly of meals.


QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduation or a G.E.D. equivalent is required. Necessary skills include the ability to work under close supervision and to maintain the expected work flow. The ability to read, write and speak English is crucial, as the willingness to work among mentally disabled persons. Applicant must be finger printed and receive clearance from Criminal Justice Department.

QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF WORK

  • Performs tasks correctly and according to policies and procedures.
  • Performs food preparation tasks as assigned, including:
  • Assembling prepared foods and assisting with cold food preparation.
  • Delivering food to client service areas and assisting with cafeteria service.
  • Delivering clean dishes, pots and utensils to appropriate areas.
  • Obtaining supplies from food storage areas, refrigerators and freezers.
    • Performs cleaning tasks as assigned, including:
  • Loading and tending the dish washing machines.
  • Hand washing non-machine equipment.
  • Sweeping and washing floors.
  • Cleaning and washing food service areas and equipment.
  • Cleaning and washing refrigerators, freezers, dining room walls and furniture.
    • Practices Universal precautions at all times.


    TEAM MEMBER PARTICIPATION

    • Participates as a team member and provides input via reporting observations, concerns and asking appropriate questions.

    • Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of equipment and supplies.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Constantly 67% to 100%


    • Constant standing 8 hours per day. Static standing in one location while preparing and cooking.
    • Occasional bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, turning, forward leaning and squatting during preparation and cleaning operations.
    • Occasional pushing up 1 to 5 pounds short distances. (25 feet)
    • Occasional pushing of food trays 10 to 25 pounds 70 to 100 feet.
    • Occasional pulling with one or both hands 1 to 5 pounds during food preparation.
    • Occasional pulling 10 to 25 pounds while transporting food trays and containers to steam counters.
    • Occasional lifting from floor to overhead, or floor to waist. (1 to 10 pounds)
    • Rarely climbs on step stool or short ladder to retrieve items from top shelf.
    • Occasional carrying of food and utensils weighing 1 to 25 pounds.
    • Infrequent overhead reaching 1-25 pounds.
    • Both fine finger manipulation and gross manual dexterity are required.
    • Occasional power grip and hand twisting require din both hands for clutching and grasping; to seize or hold firmly.
    • Normal or corrected near and far vision, in addition to non-inhibiting color vision. May read 2 to 4 hours each day and must be able to read instructions.


    Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted and/or changed at the discretion of management.
