The Muriel Wright Recovery Center CRT is a 15-bed, voluntary crisis residential treatment center on Santa Clara County’s Muriel Wright behavioral health campus in San Jose, California. The CRT is co-located on the same campus as the Substance Use Treatment Services (SUTS) program. The program was created as an alternative to and diversion from Emergency Psychiatric Services (EPS), acute psychiatric hospitalization, and incarceration. The CRT will serve a co-ed population with 90% male and 10% female census predicted; all referrals will be persons with justice-involved mental health status. The average length of stay for this program is 14-21 days. The Muriel Wright Recovery Center CRT program is under contract with Santa Clara County Behavioral Health Services Department.

As a Licensed mental health professional,you will have the opportunity to lend your 1 year of behavioral health/mental health clinical experience coupled with your ability to promote and maintain harmonious and effective relationships and communications as you mentor/lead a dynamic team.

In this exciting role, you will:

  • Coordinate service needs and collaborate with other services and agencies
  • Complete assessments
  • Determine appropriate level of services for members
  • In partnership with the Administrator/Clinical Director, plans, organize, implement and promote recovery centered clinical services
  • Act as a role model in maintaining a hopeful and positive attitude in problem-solving and coping with challenges associated with mental illness.
  • Contribute to ensuring the program is in compliance with all related state, federal and local licensing regulations and requirements for mental health programs
  • Collaborate with staff in strategic planning activities with the goal of ensuring ongoing effectiveness of the program.
  • Apply management practices that include empowerment of staff, the provision of clear and concise expectations regarding duties assigned employees, frequent feedback focusing on both positive and problematic aspects of work performance and other management practices that are consistent with Continuous Quality Improvement.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Telecare’s customers including residents, families and governmental agencies in all interactions and conduct.

To Be a Success:

Required:
• Master’s Degree and two years of post-graduate direct clinical experience in a mental health setting
• Must have experience working with Mental Health consumers, families, and advisory boards
• Licensed mental health professional as confirmed by California regulatory/licensing board (LMFT, LCSW)
• Sensitivity to multi-cultural populations and issues
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment

All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. Position requires driving, valid driver’s license, a motor vehicle clearance and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment.
