Telecare STEPS (Striving Towards Enhanced Partnerships) Orange County serves 141 adults with serious mental illness (SMI), aged 18+.

Employment Status: Part -Time .5

Shift: AM 8:00 am - 12:30 pm

Days: Monday - Friday

POSITION SUMMARY
The Drug Testing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and scheduling as well as conducting drug/alcohol screens utilizing various sanctioned testing methodologies, collecting and disposing of urine specimens, maintaining accountability for specimen identification, communicating on a regular basis with probation and program staff, and documenting results of drug/alcohol testing for case files. At times, provides education and support to members served around the purpose of drug testing; collaborates with Treatment Team and Court collaborative as necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with internal and external stakeholders
• Provides safe, effective, and efficient implementation of testing procedures in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care
• Maintains random testing schedule to ensure all members served are being tested as required
• Documents services provided in Caminar according to State and County regulations
Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, and/or changed at the discretion of management.

Position requires transporting Members in own personal vehicle and program van (acceptable driving record and vehicle inspection for safety). Position requires driving for company business such as trainings, offsite meetings, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
• One (1) year of experience working with people in recovery from substance misuse and mental health issues
• High school diploma or a G.E.D
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment
• All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. Position requires driving, valid driver license, a motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional regulatory, contractual, or local requirements may apply.

Preferred:
• One (1) year experience with working in a community setting
• Previous forensic experience

SKILLS
• Knowledge of and ability to use public transportation
• Knowledge of psychology or sociology
• Knowledge of mental illness behaviors and treatment principles of interviewing to acquire information
• Ability to interact with other members of the team, members served, family members, and community services

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, bend, squat, kneel, twist, push, pull, and lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds or less as well as to frequently walk, stand, twist, reach, and to do simple and power grasping. The position requires manual deviation, repetition, and dexterity and to Hazardous Exposure (Blood Borne Pathogens, Hospital Waste, Chemicals, and Infectious ).
