POSITION SUMMARY
The Nurse Coordinator is a treatment team member who is responsible for supervising designated staff and performs evaluations. The Nurse Coordinator ensures that the physical and psychological needs of members served through direct and indirect services in a manner consistent with Rehabilitation and Recovery principles. S/he performs activities that may be carried out only by professional nursing personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
• Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the state of program operations with four (4) years of full-time experience in psychiatric mental health nursing OR
• MSN with one (1) year full-time experience OR B.S.N. with two (2) years of full-time experience in a psychiatric setting
• Must be at least 18 years of age
•If the position requires driving, valid driver’s license, a motor vehicle clearance and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment.

Preferred:
• One (1) year of experience in a community-based setting

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • A Treatment team member who provides direct supervision to the nursing staff using management practices that include empowerment, clear communication of expectations and problem solving.
  • Will meet with nursing staff on a regular basis, write coaching notes and conduct annual performance evaluations.
  • Provides training, consultation and evaluation of Nurse competencies.
  • Provides recovery focused services related to appropriate administration of medical treatment and medications in accordance with Telecare policies and procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with members served.
  • Assists Clinical Administrator with providing facility oversight, community outreach and on call consultation.
  • MUST have leadership and manager experience, preferably 2+ years but not required
  • MUST be okay with teaching and training new staff, training on the job as well as conducting trainings in a classroom setting.
  • MUST have psychiatric nurse experience.
