Director of Development (Justice Involved Mental Health Focus)

The Director of Development is responsible for developing and executing Telecare’s growth strategies, ensuring growth is consistent with Telecare’s clinical competencies and overall mission. This position will leverage their extensive clinical and program development experience and expertise to serve as a key driver associated with strategic growth plans for programs serving individuals who have justice involvement and mental health challenges.


QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Master’s degree in healthcare, marketing or related field
  • Five (5) or more years of experience and proven track record of outstanding customer relationship and business development skills resulting in expansion of business serving specialized populations and company’s profitability
  • Strong understanding of and experience working with Justice Involved Mental Health Systems and Services
  • Working knowledge of relevant State and Federal laws and regulations, including understanding Medicaid, and licensing and certification requirements
  • Expertise associated with program design and clinical best practices to support individuals with Justice Involvement and Mental Health challenges.
  • Understanding of program staffing models and reimbursement principles
  • Demonstrated success developing new programs and product lines and marketing them to new and existing partners
  • Experience working in an organization that outsources services to local and federal government agencies, prison systems, or health systems is necessary
  • Strong understanding of and extensive experience working with county and state regulatory and behavioral health agencies / authorities
  • All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If the position requires driving, valid driver’s license, a motor vehicle clearance and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday language and contact with the internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyzes the public policy arena and recommends potential strategic opportunities; participates as a key leader and/or consultant in product line(s) and content development for new and expanded services for specialized populations
  • Establishes and maintains presence with the broader criminal justice community by serving on appropriate committees/taskforces and participating in advocacy events
  • Leads marketing efforts and collaborates with Regional Directors in California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Nebraska, and North Carolina; identifies possible new states for Telecare expansion opportunities
  • Serves as a key driver of the growth plan through the development of strong customer relationships; sells to new customers and builds appropriate relationships
  • Keeps current on trends and development in all areas of specialized product line
  • Assists the SVP and VP of Development in areas of marketing, government relations, and key customer support to accelerate business in the public sector
  • Leads or supports response to the customer when reputational risks threaten existing business
  • Supports and produces materials for publication and research of Telecare’s programs to the greater mental health community
  • Assumes responsibility for her/his professional growth and the ongoing professional development of the staff

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, bend, squat, kneel, twist, reach and lift and carry items weighing 25 pounds or less as well as to frequently sit. The position requires manual deviation, repetition and dexterity and to occasionally drive.
