  • Our clients suffer from severe schizophrenia, schizoaffective, bipolar I and other diagnoses. Due to their severe mental illness, it is likely that the clients you serve will have homelessness, justice involved history, drug and alcohol addiction, comorbidities, and more. We use a person-centered approach, believing that recovery is possible for all people, and work every day to coordinate excellent care for the members on their journey to recovery. We believe recovery looks different for everyone and we strive to individualize services to restore dignity. We serve our clients from a posture of respect, kindness, and non-judgment.
  • Each Mental Health Specialist sees 3-5 clients per day and must account for 26 hours per week as client productivity. We drive out into the community to meet with our clients where they live and provide services.

What qualifications must you have to qualify and be successful in this role?

  • Must have a CA BBS License: ASW/ACSW, AMFT, APCC, PsyD licensure
  • Must have a master's degree in social sciences
  • Must have 1 year of mental health experience
  • You must have your own vehicle, willing to use it for work and willing to transport members in your car. You will be reimbursed for all your miles driven for the job.
  • You must have a driver 's license that is valid and current. Must have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report Background Check and meet the driving standards of Telecare 's Fleet Safety Manual
  • You must have valid and current car insurance with your name listed as a driver.
  • You must want to work Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
  • Must be willing to rotate a Crisis After Hours cell phone with the rest of the staff (typically employees take the crisis cell phone home for one week every two months.)

What will the job entail?

The Clinician's main responsibility is to complete the intakes and discharges of clients. Clinicians will write the Behavioral Health Assessment for each client enrolled at TAO North. The Clinician will also assist with writing the initial Client Plan based off the intake and/or annual BHA. The Clinician partners very closely with the team as a clinical consultant. The Clinician will report to the Team Lead but work closely with the other social workers, case managers, mental health workers to ensure continuity of care and that the goals and objectives of the client's services are being met. We are looking for a Clinician who will roll up their sleeves and step in, to go the extra mile if needed, even providing clients with community support and case management services using Psychiatric Rehabilitation principles, Recovery Philosophy, and Evidence-Based practices. You may coordinate service needs and collaborates with other services and agencies such as the Conservator 's Office, Public Defender 's Office, Child and adult Protective Services, Probation Department, and Inpatient Services, Long Term Care Services, Residential Settings and County Mental Health Services.
