Telecare 's mission is to deliver excellent and effective behavioral health services that engage individuals with complex needs in recovering their health, hopes, and dreams. Telecare has over 170 programs and 4,500 employees across the country.

Telecare San Diego's newest behavioral health program is a 24/7, non-law enforcement, Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) serving individuals of all ages experiencing mental health crisis utilizing recovery principles. We will exist to respond to crisis with the goal of safety for all. Our community has recognized a need to respond to mental health crises and those under the influence from a posture of compassion, patience, and recovery. This program collaborates and accepts referrals from the San Diego Access and Crisis Line (ACL) and law enforcement. San Diego's MCRT will offer crisis triage and management, risk assessment, in-person intervention, and case management. Each team will respond to calls from the mobile office van to provide services directly in the field in the following San Diego Regions: Central, East, South, North Central and North Inland.

Shifts Available

***You can work 1-5 days per week.

Day Shift/Morning Shift is 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Swing Shift/Evening Shift is 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 6% differential will be added on to hours worked

Overnight Shift / Graveyard is 11:00 PM -7:30 AM, 8% differential will be added on to hours worked

What are the qualifications? (Must Have)

  • Current and valid CA BBS Associate License, must be license eligible, with a ASW, APCC or AMFT
  • Two (2) years of crisis management experience, i.e., crisis response, de-escalation, calling codes
  • Valid and current CA Driver's License
  • Valid and current car insurance

What will the job entail?

  • This role is the Triage and Dispatch Clinician for MCRT
  • Provides telephone screening, triage and referral services to people in crisis.
  • Receives calls and dispatches teams per service agreement
  • Uses county approved tools for assessments
  • Meets all response service levels per agreement
  • Enters call data into tracking system as required
  • Engages and establishes a therapeutic relationship with client callers
  • Provides accurate diagnostic consultation to team members, as requested
  • Provides onsite support to people in crisis as needed
  • Provides consultation/interpretation to clients and their families regarding service option
  • Recommends and establishes general policies, structures and controls
  • Collaborates with Program Director/Administrator to ensure program offers individuals served increasing opportunities for employment, social integration and independent living
  • Attends and oversees the monthly Utilization Review process
  • Oversees all referrals to the Program
  • Provides 24-hour on-call (cell phone) coverage as needed
  • Assures that clients know and understand their legal status and rights
  • Provides weekend/on-call service/back-up and crisis intervention
  • Completes the Monthly Status Report to the County
  • Assists with Service Coordination Plan, including:
  • Making appropriate referrals for placement, case management and aftercare services, as assigned.
  • Coordinating with the Office Coordinator to assure that client benefits and finance are in order, as assigned
  • Developing and maintaining an awareness of community resources

Test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If the position requires driving, a valid driver 's license, a motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance are required at the time of employment and throughout your job. Be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on hire date or within 60 days of work and maintain current certification throughout the job.
