As part of the Telecare Family, CHANGES uses an integrated approach to support individuals needing wraparound support services that fall under the intensive case management model. The program currently serves clients between the ages of 18-65 and up to 140 members.

Employment Status: Full-Time

Shift:AM, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Days: Monday - Friday

POSITION SUMMARY
The Clerk Typist performs a variety of administrative tasks and may provide support to Department Managers.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
• High School Graduation or G.E.D.
• Six (6) months administrative support experience in a health care environment
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certified on date of employment or within 60 days of employment and maintain current certification throughout employment
• All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. Position requires driving, valid driver’s license, a motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. Additional regulatory, contractual, or local requirements may apply.

Preferred:
• Electronic Health Record experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with internal and external stakeholders
• Assists the Medical Records department with filing and medical records
• Performs general office duties that include:
o Duplicating, collating and organizing reports
o Processing outgoing mail
o Serving as backup to the Receptionist during breaks and leave time
o Typing/transcribing dictated letters and other documents
o Taking, typing, and distributing meeting minutes as assigned
o Using excellent professional telephone etiquette at all times
• Performs medical records related duties that include:
o Auditing charts to check for current History & Physicals, Psychiatric Evaluations, and Discharge dictations
o Correcting, copying, and distributing documents to doctors for signature, and placing temporary copies in charts
o Assisting with updating department manuals, including inserting new and revised policies and procedures
o Assisting with thinning of charts
o Assisting with medical records as per Medical Records Technician’s instructions
• Performs facility related duties that include:
o Assisting with preparing employee orientation packets
o Assisting with updating the Fire, Safety and Disaster Manuals, including inserting new and revised policies and procedures
o Assisting with other duties as assigned by management
• Assists program on projects as assigned
Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted and/or changed at the discretion of management.

Position requires driving for company business such as trainings, offsite meetings, etc.

SKILLS
• Basic proficiency in Office Tools

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, twist, squat and lift and carry items weighing 25 pounds or less as well as to frequently sit, walk, reach, bend and do simple grasping occasionally. The position requires manual deviation, repetition and dexterity.
