As part of the Telecare family, Villa Fairmont is licensed as a 99-bed Mental Health Rehabilitation Center. It serves adults who have a history of serious and persistent mental illness with repeated hospitalizations

Full Time; AM 8:30 am - 5:30 pm; Monday - Friday

Wage Range Minimum: $19.30 Hourly

MISSION STATEMENT

Telecare will deliver and manage excellent services and systems of care for persons with serious mental illness.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Clerk Typist performs a variety of clerical tasks and may provide support to the Department Managers, Clinical Department Secretary, Administrative Assistant, Business Office Manager and Medical Records Technicians.

QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) year general office experience is required. High School graduation or a G.E.D. equivalent is also required. Necessary skills include knowledge of general office procedures, the ability to type at a rate of 50 words per minute, experience in the use of a 10 key adding machine and knowledge of current computer software, i.e. Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Access. Excellent public relations and communication skills are essential. The ability to read, write and speak English is crucial, as is the willingness to work with the mentally impaired adults.

KEY RESULT AREAS

• Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with clients, the public and other staff members.

• Performs tasks correctly and according to policies and procedures.

• Performs general office duties that include:

1. Duplicating, collating and organizing reports.

2. Processing outgoing mail.

3. Serving as backup to the Receptionist during breaks and leave time.

4. Type/transcribe dictated letters and other documents

5. Taking minutes of meetings, typing and distributing the minutes, as assigned.

6. Using telephone etiquette at all times

• Performs client related duties that include:

1. Organize and track the History & Physicals, Psychiatric Evaluations, and Discharge dictations.

2. Correct, copy, distribute to doctors for signatures, and temporary copy to charts.

3. Audit charts to documents in #1, above, and legal status are current.

4. Assist with updating department manuals, including inserting new and revised policies and procedures.

• Performs medical records related duties that include:

1. Auditing charts to check for current History & Physicals, Psychiatric Evaluations, and Discharge dictations.

2. Assist with thinning of charts.

3. Assist medical records as per Medical Records Technician’s instructions.

• Performs facility related duties that include:

1. Assist with preparing employee orientation packets.

2. Assist with updating the Fire, Safety and Disaster Manuals, including inserting new and revised policies and procedures.

3. Assist with other duties as assigned by management.

• Participates as a team member and provides input via reporting observations, concerns and asking appropriate questions.

• Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of equipment and supplies.

• Demonstrates a good rapport and cooperative working relationships with all

members of the team; responds to co-workers with concern and promotes group morale.

• Continually focuses on assigned tasks and seeks and implements improvements as necessary.

• Understands and demonstrates the safety program in all activities.

• Practices universal precautions at all times.

• Demonstrates knowledge of Telecare's customers including clients, families and governmental agencies in all interactions and conduct.

• Acts in a professional manner, always demonstrating respect and understanding of the community, fellow employees, and neighborhood when representing Telecare in the community.

• Completes and follows through with tasks and assignments, meeting expected deadlines.

• Understands and demonstrates knowledge of all policies associated with attendance.

• Attends all assigned in-service education classes.

• Always dresses appropriately and professionally.
