As a part of the Telecare Family, Telecare 's Eastern Kern Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) will provide outpatient psychiatric services to children and adults who are experiencing a mental health crisis. The primary purpose of the CSU will be to offer immediate individualized assistance to stabilize acute psychiatric symptoms and help consumers avoid inpatient hospitalization. The 24/7 program will have the capacity to treat 12 consumers at any given time, both voluntary and involuntary, and utilize a strengths-based, recovery oriented model of care.

*Multiple Shifts Available*

AM: 7:00am-3:30 pm; 1 Full Time, 1 Short Hour

PM: 3:00pm-11:30pm; 1 Full Time, 1 Short Hour

Days Vary:Ability to work weekends is a plus!

POSITION SUMMARY
This supervisory positon provides recovery focused services related to the safe and appropriate administration of medical treatment (including medications) as prescribed by the physician. Provides safe, effective and efficient implementation of direct care in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of program operations is required.
• 2 years of RN experience.
• 1 year of supervisory experience.
•If the position requires driving, valid driver license, a motor vehicle clearance and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment.

Preferred:
• BSN degree preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience in Behavioral health setting preferred.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Leads a multidisciplinary team using management practices that include empowerment of staff and clear communication of expectations and problem solving.
  • Sets schedule for RNs and LVNs.
  • Supervises nursing staff while on the clock and assists with all nursing needs, decision making and problem solving for member care and program care.
  • Provides recovery focused services related to appropriate administration of medical treatment and medications in accordance with Telecare policies and procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains therapeutic relationships with members served
  • Utilizes assessment tools to determine level of risk and respond appropriately to a variety of emotional crisis and mental health symptoms.
  • Documents the progress of members served toward their holistic physical and mental health goals.
  • MUST be organized and detailed minded.
  • MUST be proactive and solution oriented.
  • MUST be able to clearly communicate concerns of the program to supervisor in a polite and respectful manner.
  • MUST put the safety of members and staff first.Must be able to demonstrate and train safety in the CSU to all staff.
