Every May we come together to combat stigma, provide support, and educate the public on mental health issues for Mental Health Awareness Month.
However, there are always conversations to be had surrounding mental health.
Sam Wasson, a rehab therapist at the Mark Reed Evaluation & Treatment (E&T) program in McCleary, WA, put posters on the walls of the break room and asked staff to answer two different questions:
Why do you work in mental healthcare?
What is the best part of your job?
The responses received were so uplifting and a great way to show everyone that although we are all drawn to this work for different reasons, we all believe in what we do and want to create a better life for those we serve.
